Times: 10am - 2.30pm
In this introduction to silversmithing you will make your own, elegant, necklace pendent under the guidance and expertise of Sandra McArdle, that you can enjoy wearing with pride!
You will learn how to pierce (cut) silver, anneal, texture, and form silver to craft your piece. You will learn to clean and polish your final piece to create something that is a joy to wear. The pendant can be worn on your own chain or a silver chain can be purchased on the day.
Silversmithing can be a messy business so please wear clothes that you will be comfortable in, aprons will be provided. Please wear closed toes shoes and ensure that hair is tied back off your face. There is close work involved in working with silver so if you use glasses, please don’t forget them!
A cup of tea or coffee and piece of cake are included in the price of this workshop but don’t forget your water to keep you hydrated.
