About this Event
If you've ever seen an improv show live or on TV and wondered 'can I do that' - the answer is...MAYBE! You'll never know unless you try. Short-Form improv focuses on playing improv games (shorter scenes, songs and joke formats) and is the perfect toe in the water to see if you like it. Plus, if you want to do comedy professionally, you'll need to know how to do short-form improv. It's the perfect beginner class across the board.
So why take it with us? ComedySportz is the nation's largest and oldest short-form comedy theater, with 28 locations across the US (and one in the UK). We've been operating in Chicago since 1984 and feature such alum as Jason Sudeikis and Brendan Hunt (Ted Lasso), Frank Caeti (MadTV), Wayne Brady and Kay Cannon (Mean Girls). Our teachers are amongst the best in the biz, and work all over the city both in other comedy theaters as well as in commercials and TV shows you've seen.
The class is 6 weeks long and will teach you the fundamentals of good improv, specifically within short-form improv. You'll play lots of games and meet lots of new friends plus you'll get a one night show during our League Night at the culmination of your training.
