About this Event
Welcome to the Introduction to Sarah Lethieulliers's Dolls House event!
Join us on November 28, 2025 at 11:30 AM or 2:30pm to explore the enchanting world of Sarah Lethieulliers's Dolls House.
The grand, 18th Century Uppark Baby House is among the most historically important in the country and one of only a handful that have survived almost 300 years in incredibly good condition.
The Baby House was given to a Huguenot heiress, Sarah Lethieullier, by her father in 1732. In 1746 Sarah Married Matthew Fetherstonhaugh and the Baby House was moved to their London home in Whitehall (now the Scotland Office). Then, after Matthew's death, it was then taken to Uppark in the 1770s, where it has remained until now. The baby house has a temporary home at the Huguenot Museum, Rochester, while the room where it is usually displayed at Uppark House is being restored.
Dr Tessa Murdoch will provide an illustrated talk giving a fascinating insight into this magical house.
Museum entry with the opportunity to view the house in person, tea and coffee included in the ticket price.
