This is a 2 Saturday Class
Description: In this workshop you will learn the simplicity of weaving on a rigid heddle loom. You will gain confidence in using your loom, understand weaving terms, and will have the skills to keep weaving on your own by the end of class.
In this class you will:
- Learn basic weaving terminology and parts of the loom
- Learn how to plan a project and keep records
- Learn how to warp the rigid heddle loom using the direct warping method
- Follow basic weaving instructions for the project

Time: 10am- 3pm
Participant Requirements: no experience necessary
Equipment to bring:
- Scissors
- Notebook/paper
- Pen/pencil
- You will have use of a guild loom and accessories. If you own a rigid heddle loom with a 16 to 24 inch weaving width, you may use it. You will require a 7.5 or 8 dent loom.
Material Cost: Yarn requirements for the project will be emailed to you at least two weeks before class. This will allow you to choose your own colours and purchase from your favourite yarn shop. There is no extra material fee.
LDWS workshops are open to all. If a participant is less than 18 years old, they are required to have a parent or guardian present at all times.
The workshop is limited to 4 participants, please register early.
This class has a minimum number of 4 participants to proceed. If this number is not reached we’ll let you know about a week before the start of class. You will be refunded your full registration.
***Cancellation Policy: Participants who cancel their registration up to 1 month prior to the start of the workshop will receive a full refund. A participant who finds a replacement for his/her spot within 1 month prior to the start of the workshop will receive a full refund. Cancellations within 1 month of workshops (with no replacement found) and “no-shows” will not be refunded. If the Guild cancels a workshop for any reason, all registration fees will be refunded.
