What skill level should I be?
The course is designed to build on the skills and techniques you have learnt in our "Introduction to Woodwork - Hand Tools 1 and 2" course. So ideally, we ask that you complete our "Hand Tools 1" course before booking. If you are a confident woodworker, who can use hand tools, measure and construct proficiently you are welcome to enrol. However this course is not designed for complete novices. We do this to make sure all participants get the most out of the day and can learn as much as possible while being at the same level as the rest of the group.
What will I learn?
You will learn how to safely use a;
-Chop Saw
-Jigsaw
-Palm Router
-Orbital Sander
We will cover all the safety considerations and PPE that should be used as well as hints and tips of how to use tools efficiently and safely. During the session you will learn to make a small caddie as a project to practice your new skills with.
What else is included

Another main aim of this course is to empower people to be able to complete their own jobs or projects at home and give them confidence in their own woodworking ability by developing skills. We have a pool of experience makers from a range of backgrounds, such as furniture/ cabinet makers and restorers, luthiers, picture framers, eco and site builders and joiners.
What do I need to bring?
All tools are supplied. Lunch is not supplied so make sure you've got some with you. Please wear clothes suitable for dusty work and sensible shoes. We provide the hot drinks and biscuits for the break. Please bring warm clothing – we recommend you bring layers – it can be cold in our workshop even in summer.. It's also a good idea to bring a notepad and pencil so you can make notes!
Where can I park my car or bike?
