About this Event
It's too cold to pick up trash, but it's always the right time to play with clay!
Join us at Penguin Foot Pottery for an introduction to wheel-throwing, with all proceeds supporting our resource redistribution project, The Parlor.
About the class:
Our instructor will guide us through the steps of working with clay on the wheel. Wheel throwing can be challenging when first starting out, so this workshop will cover the fundamentals and is structured for first time students, but all skill levels are welcome! Each student can keep their favorite piece to be glazed and fired if they choose. Your piece will be fired twice in the Penguin Foot kilns, and the process typically takes about 2 weeks for them to be ready to pick up. A message will be sent out to the email that registered for the workshop to let you know when your work is ready to be picked up!
The cost of this workshop is for a three-hour experience on the potter's wheel and is not contingent on keeping a piece of pottery. Please note that there are no refunds for damaged, lost, or discarded pottery.
All equipment is provided, but we recommend wearing clothes that you don't mind getting a little dirty.
