Introduction to Playing the Crystal Bowls
Duration:
1 hour Digital Lecture (Self paced, received within 48 hours of signing up. Please complete before live studio workshop.)
2 hours Live Workshop (In studio at Kindred Healing Space)
Join us for a deep dive into the world of crystal bowl sound healing. This introductory workshop is designed for beginners who are eager to explore the soothing and harmonizing power of crystal bowls.
A 1 hour digital lecture will take you through the principles, evidence and medicine behind the use of crystal singing bowls for healing. You will receive access to this within 48 hours of signing up. Please complete before the 2 hour live workshop.
The 2 hour live workshop will take students through hands on practice of the principles and techniques learned in the digital lecture.
Over the course of these three hours, you will:
Discover the Basics:
- Learn about the history and origin of crystal bowls.
- Understand the different types of crystal bowls and their unique sounds.
- Explore the science behind sound healing and its benefits for the mind, body, and spirit.
Understanding Harmonics: Sound and Light:
- Delve into the concept of harmonics and how sound frequencies interact.
- Discover the relationship between sound and light frequencies and their impact on healing.
- Explore how crystal bowls can be used to balance and harmonize energy through both auditory and visual vibrations.
Hands-On Practice:
- Receive guided instruction on the proper techniques for playing crystal bowls.
- Practice creating harmonious sounds and experimenting with different tones.
- Develop your intuitive connection to the bowls and explore how to use them for personal healing and relaxation.
Group Sound Bath Experience:
- Participate in a collective sound bath session, allowing the vibrations of multiple bowls to wash over and balance your energy.
- Experience deep relaxation and meditation, facilitated by the resonant frequencies of the crystal bowls.
- Learn how to create a sound bath for yourself and others, integrating your new skills into daily practice.
*Option to build your own set of crystal bowls with KIN based on your personal resonant frequency

About the Instructor
Janelle Corpuz Hethcoat is an expert in Sound and Healing Arts, serving as a teacher, facilitator, author, and founder of KIN Unified Healing and Kailukuan School of Indigenous Science. Best known for her transformative personal journey, Janelle healed herself from infertility through the power of sound and ancestral healing, inspiring her to create multiple evidence based curricula including Kin Sound Therapy. She has researched and written multiple sound curricula accredited by the American Holistic Nurses Association through the ANCC and the AHNCC. Additionally, she has founded KIN Academy, specializing in sound therapy and mindfulness for children aged 4-11, with a primary focus on demonstrating the benefits of sound therapy for kids with neurodevelopmental disorders. Her mission is to empower individuals and healthcare professionals alike with the tools and knowledge to tap into their own healing potential, establishing her as a pioneering visionary in sound medicine within holistic health.
About the Sound Facilitator
Donna Wojcik is a former school teacher, spending 20 years in education teaching in San Diego as well as in the Greater Seattle Area. She recently resigned from teaching to focus full time on her private healing practice which has recently expanded into an alternative healing center, Kindred Healing Space.
For as long as she can remember, she has had a calling to be of service to others, first with children as a school teacher and more recently as a Reiki Master Teacher, Intuitive Coach and Guide, and Sound Bath Practitioner for the community.Her goal with Kindred Healing Space is to create a healing and supportive community that includes a variety of private offerings with 8 different practitioners, yoga and meditation, as well as workshops and events for the individual's and community's spiritual and healing journey.
