Join artist Rose Guzman for a 10-session beginner-friendly oil painting course. This series will begin with an introduction to the fundamentals of oil painting—including materials, techniques, and historical context—before guiding students through the development of their own still life portrait. Each participant will select personal objects to create a meaningful and unique still life composition, which will be the focus throughout the course. The class encourages independent exploration, with supportive group critiques and guidance from Rose. While most students will focus on one comprehensive piece, there may be time to begin additional works. The course will conclude with an opportunity to showcase artwork in a final gallery presentation. Note: Students are required to bring their own materials, but it is advised to wait until after the second session to purchase supplies, as Rose will provide recommendations on quality tools and materials.
