Plenty at the Square - a creative vegetarian café based at South Square Community Arts Centre in Thornton - are running a weekly programme of fun workshops and events at Darley Street Market. These workshops will teach a variety of techniques to prevent food waste through preserving, pickling, drying using the whole vegetable.This workshop looks at the ancient art of lacto fermentation. This harnesses natural bacteria to produce flavourful and healthy foods such as sauerkraut and kimchi. You will taste and make ferments including classic sauerkraut.
This workshop is free to attend but places are limited to 6, so booking is essential. The workshop will take place outside the Wellnest, which can be found on the Fresh Food Floor of Darley Street Market overlooking the Courtyard.
