The Introduction to Biblical Counseling course offers a foundational understanding of counseling within a Christian framework. It introduces students to the purpose, principles, and practices of biblical counseling, focusing on the central role of God’s Word in addressing life’s struggles. By the end of the course, students will develop a biblical framework for counseling and learn to apply scriptural principles to real-life scenarios.This 8-week course combines online and in-person or virtual (Zoom) learning. Students will engage in bi-weekly on-campus or weekly zoom sessions, which facilitate interactive discussions and hands-on exercises. Online components hosted on our website include readings, video seminars, and forum participation. Consistent engagement in both formats is critical for successful course completion.
Course Syllabus
The total cost for this course is $365 + $65 for the Equipped to Counsel Textbook.
This is the first class in a series of 4 that includes:
CNSL101 Introduction to Biblical Counseling
CNSL102 Foundations of Biblical Counseling
CNSL103 Biblical Counseling Methods
CNSL104 Advanced Topics in Biblical Counseling
Completion of all four courses in this series is required for graduation from the Encounter Level 1 Biblical Counseling Certificate Program.
Association of Biblical Counselors (ABC) Certification
The course is designed for students pursuing the ABC Level 1 Certification, providing them with a well-rounded introduction to the field of biblical counseling, with a focus on applying biblical truths to everyday counseling situations. ABC Certification however not required. Cost and fees for ABC Certification and Membership are not include in this course.
