Introduction to American Mahjong in Glen Ellyn

Curious about American Mahjong? Pull up a chair and learn the game everyone is talking about.

This beginner-friendly class is designed for players with little or no experience. In a relaxed, social setting, you’ll learn the fundamentals of American Mahjong and gain the confidence to start playing on your own.

During this hands-on lesson, we’ll cover:
• The basic rules and flow of the game
• How to read the National Mahjong League card
• The Charleston (tile passing)
• Building a winning hand
• Gameplay strategy and table etiquette

Mahjong may look complicated at first, but with clear instruction and guided play, you’ll quickly see why this game has become such a favorite. It’s the perfect combination of strategy, luck, and connection.

All materials will be provided during class. Just bring yourself and a willingness to learn!

By the end of the session, you’ll leave with the knowledge and resources you need to start your own games and continue your mahjong journey.
