About this Event
In Introduction to Woodturning, students will learn how to safely and effectively operate a wood lathe, with hands-on practice using a variety of turning tools, including both steel and carbide, with a focus on spindle turning techniques. The class will also cover how to properly use centers and drivers, mandrels, and chucks. By the end of the course, students will have completed a full safety check on the lathe and gained foundational skills for confident, safe turning.
In this class, students will be making a champagne glass!
No loose fitting clothing (especially sleeves) or gloves. Please wear safety glasses and ear protection.

Instructor's Bio: Stay at home dad of 3 small beings with a side job as a nurse. I have been a member of the Makerspace for about 2 years and have been turning for about 1.5 years. Most evenings you can find me puttering around the woodshop.
Minimum of 2 students needed to run.
This class is for ages 18 and older.
Materials and tools are provided.
Refunds are provided seven (7) days before class is scheduled.
