Switch and YCKC are excited to once again collaborate on an intro to whitewater program this summer! This event is for Black, Indigenous, People of Colour, Gender diverse and queer folks, ages 14 and up.
Overview
This program will include 2 evening sessions on the Yukon River in Whitehorse and a day trip to the Lower Tutshi River (near Carcross). Participants will use whitewater packrafts — a stable and beginner-friendly way to explore moving water — as an introduction to whitewater paddling in a safe, fun, and supportive way.
By the end of this program we hope paddlers will feel comfortable running Class II rapids in a packraft, have connected with an amazing community of outdoor-loving folks and to continue your whitewater journey on YCKC trips and drop-in evenings throughout the summer!
