Intro to Watercolor with Carolyn DiFiori Hopkins, MFA

This workshop offers a gentle introduction to watercolor, perfect for those just starting out. You’ll learn about the essential materials—brushes, paper, palettes, and paints—and practice very basic techniques such as simple washes, water control, and how watercolor behaves on the page. By the end, you’ll have a solid foundation to build on for future workshops. Supplies aren’t included in the workshop fee. You can find a PDF supply list in the workshop description. Carolyn will go over the materials during the workshop, and there’s a display at Arlene’s so students can easily get what they need.
This session is required for all new students unless proficiency is demonstrated.
Please note that our classes are typically held in the lower level of Arlene's. Because access to the lower level is available only by stair, please let us know if using the stairs presents any difficulty for you in advance of the class so we can make alternate arrangements. We want to make sure everyone is able to enjoy and participate in our classes.
