Through clear, step-by-step instruction, artist Laura Leigh will guide you through the fundamentals of watercolor, including color mixing, brush techniques, layering, and creating luminous effects.
Students will have the unique opportunity to paint with handcrafted natural pigments made by the artist from stones, minerals, and earth materials gathered from the landscape. These one-of-a-kind colors offer a rich connection to nature and bring an extra sense of magic and authenticity to the painting process.
Whether you are picking up a paintbrush for the first time or looking to deepen your creative practice, this class offers a relaxed and supportive environment where experimentation is encouraged and every painting becomes a personal expression. About your teacher:
Laura Leigh is a Hudson Valley-based artist, educator, and musician who has spent over a decade developing a unique practice centered around creating pigments from the natural world. Laura has completed several artist residency programs in National Parks and outdoor education centers across the country and aims to help others through creative healing and connection with nature.
Laura Leigh offers wellness centered workshops in clinical settings as well as natural pigment and painting workshops for children and adults.
