Sew Your Own: Satin Bonnet in D.C.| A 2-Hour Hands-On Sewing Workshop
Want to leave class with something you made from scratch? This beginner-friendly workshop will teach you how to sew your own sweats/PJs—perfect for everyday use or gifting. No experience needed!
Over the course of two hours, you'll get comfortable using a sewing machine, following a pattern, and working with durable fabrics to create a finished, functional project you can take home the same day.
Class Details:

What You’ll Learn in Freestyle Pattern Making
Understanding Garment Shapes & Construction
You’ll learn how to break down clothing into simple pattern pieces you can draft from scratch.
Taking Body Measurements
We’ll teach you how to take accurate measurements so your patterns fit your body or your client’s body properly.
Drafting Basic Patterns Without a Template
You’ll learn how to draw your own top, skirt, or pant pattern pieces using freestyle methods rather than commercial patterns.
Translating Inspiration Into Patterns
We’ll show you how to turn reference photos or personal designs into simple, workable pattern shapes.
Creating a Custom Muslin
You’ll practice creating a muslin (test garment) to adjust fit before cutting into your final
