Ready to slow down and create something beautiful with your hands? Join thid cozy, hands-on quilting workshop where you’ll learn how to make your own small quilted wall hanging using the timeless Log Cabin or Courthouse Steps design.
This class is perfect for beginners— basic sewing machine skills are useful but not needed ! In our small group setting, you’ll learn:
- How to follow a simple quilt pattern
- Discuss what types of fabrics would well for quilting
- Preparing and cutting your fabrics
- Basics of hand and machine piecing
- Layering your quilt with batting and backing
- Hand quilting techniques
- How to attach binding to your finished piece
We'll also explore the meditative benefits of slow stitching, a mindful and satisfying approach to crafting that brings a sense of calm and connection to your creative process.
By the end of the session, you’ll leave with a beautiful quilt top ( with binding &quilting to be finished at home)—and all the skills to begin your own quilting journey. Your finished piece could also become a lap quilt or a pillow cover if you'd like to take it further!
All materials provided.
You will get a handout with the quilt patterns and a step for step instruction on how to create binding and how to attach it.
You will have many fun fabrics to choose from and will have access to all the tools( sewing machine, rotary cutter, cutting mat ect..)
But please feel free to bring along any special fabrics u would like to work with.
