Intro to Portraiture and Oil Painting:
In this 4 week course we will review :
- The basics of drawing the human face and all of it's features.
- The basics of oil paints and how to go about using oils in a painting.
- Putting all of it together each guest will paint a portrait with guidance and direction from our professional teaching artist.
This course was designed specifically for individuals who have been wanting to learn more about creating portraits and/or where to begin with painting with oil paints.
We will meet once a week on TUESDAY nights from 6:30-8:00pm for four total sessions with the goal of creating a finished portrait by the end of the course. (April 7th, 14th, 21st, & 28th)
Materials : You may bring your own supplies. You will be provided with shared materials including oil paints, brushes, and mediums as well as your very own 9x11" canvas panel to paint on.
Time: Please arrive 10-15 minutes prior to the time scheduled. If you feel you may arrive later than 15 minutes or later is advised to reschedule as you may have a hard time catching up on your own.
Location: Classes will be held in a shared workspace surrounded by artist studios. Your paintings will be stored in my personal studio just downstairs from the workspace until they're dry and ready to be taken home. We will tour my personal studio and view works in progress as well. Entrance details will be emailed to you upon purchase.
Cancellations and Return policy: We DO NOT issue refunds for our intro to portraiture course.
