This series is an introduction to meditation techniques and experience where we move from being lost in thought and toward open awareness. Meditation is the art of remembering. Before we filled our table of context with life experiences — relationships, family and all the stories about these things, you existed. If you are interested in re-discovering your primitive, original self beyond cultural constructs and life’s difficulties, this might be a few hours worth your effort.
Traditions vary on what this "self" is, including it being a non-self, however, none of this matters unless you can connect with experience. So, we will spend much time in “practice.” We will investigate our relationship to breath and body, to our thoughts and emotions, and if necessary, we may have a special session to challenge our fixations, our most stubborn clinging to destructive models of identity which trap us in all to familiar cycles of suffering.
This course is an invitation to make the dive into the nature of mind. It is an inquiry into the sources of information we believe about ourselves, and perhaps examining how to withhold judgement long enough to see a world more bright.

This is a series occurring for 4 Saturdays beginning April 25th. Though you do not need to attend all 4 sessions,
