In this course Intersection's Grant Specialist, Krista Smith, will share best practices, strategies, and some skills to support you in successfully navigating the grant and fellowship proposal world.
This course will include information on:
- Researching Grants and Fellowship opportunities
- Writing basics of proposal
- Proposal summary statements
- Writing your organizational or artistic background
- Creating a basic artistic project statement
- Identifying your intended audience
- Creating a realistic budget, artistic work samples
- Generating additional supporting materials.
This Grant Writing 101 level workshop will include writing activities and prompts so please come prepared to write about your arts organization or artistic practice.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR: Krista brings over 22 years of experience as an artist, planning consultant, grant writer, administrator, and arts advocate to the San Francisco Bay Area’s arts and culture landscape. In addition to grant writing, Krista has also led strategic planning processes for Queer Rebels Productions, Foglifter Press, Still Here San Francisco, NAKA Dance Theater and 3Girls Theatre, and serves as a speaker and workshop facilitator with a focus on grant writing, arts fundraising, program and organizational development, and cultural equity.
