Welcome to the Intro to Fiddle Workshop!

Are you ready to dive into the world of fiddling? Join us for a fun and interactive workshop where you'll learn the basics of playing the fiddle and a new fiddle tune at each workshop! We'll be playing tunes from Irish traditional, old-time, or contra dance favorites and diving into additional fiddle techniques that can include double-stops, rhythm bowing, variations, hammer-ons, slides and more.

All stringed instruments and levels are welcome, but students should be comfortable enough on their instruments that they can learn bite-sized phrases of a melody by ear. Sheet music will also be included. If you're a violinist looking to learn fiddling styles, this workshop is perfect for you.

Suggested donation: $30 per workshop

About the instructor

Robin Flower is a musician and fiddle/mandolin/guitar player based in Oakland, CA. She has released over nine folk, bluegrass, Celtic and genre-crossing albums, 5 of them with her partner Libby McLaren, and toured across the United States and internationally.
