CLASS DESCRIPTION:
Come learn with Miri as she guides you step-by-step through your very first cross-stitch project. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll be introduced to the fundamentals of cross-stitch while stitching this beautiful cherry blossom design. Miri will cover essential techniques, materials, and tips to help you feel confident as you stitch, whether you’ve never picked up a needle before or are simply curious about the craft.
This class is designed for true beginners and creatives of all kinds. All supplies are provided, and you’ll leave with a piece well underway, a solid foundation in cross-stitch basics, and the skills to continue stitching on your own.
ABOUT SHE:DC:
SHE:DC is a month-long event throughout March to illuminate, celebrate, and gather women in business. We will have events, workshops, and shopping opportunities allowing you to connect with women.
The SHE:DC art show is the largest women only art show in the DMV.This year we have a pop-up shop that will showcase emerging women-owned brands, and will be hosting events and activities throughout the month to celebrate women in creative spaces.
About the Instructor:
Meredith "Miri" Artyukhina is an artist, crafter, cat mom, and recovering paralegal living in NW. During the pandemic, she ditched her dream of sitting the LSAT for her dream of teaching beginners the art of embroidery. Out of this switch, Capital Stitch Co. was born, and she has never been happier.
