About this Event
Delivered by Bristol City Council Community Development Team South Bristol
Suitable for: Active residents, people involved in community groups or working/volunteering in the community
This is a 2 part course taking place Thursday 16th and 30th January 2025; you must book and attend both sessions to complete the course.
This workshop will help you try out new ways of starting projects in your community, have conversations with your neighbours and learn more about Asset Based Community development (ABCD).
How do we find out what hidden talents there are in our neighborhood? What assets are on our doorstep? How do we connect people with others? We create a fun and comfortable atmosphere for participants to learn new techniques and learn from who else is in the room.
This is what past workshop participants have said:
“This workshop exceeded my expectations. Really well facilitated, felt very welcome and it was great to meet other people interested in community development work.”
“As a local resident the course has been great for me to make connections with other people in the local area and for me to be able to share my local knowledge and skills.”
“I got loads of useful tools.”
“I expected some sharing of experience and learning around ABCD skills and tools. These were met and I learned new tools and perspectives on ABCD.”
Have a scenario or example you would like to look at in the session? Please bring details with you and advise the facilitator before the training commences.
