About this Event
Learn the basics of book arts with these three sophisticated structures: a hardcover zine, a long stitch soft journal, and a classic hardcover book. Students will learn the fundamentals, such as measuring, determining grain direction, cutting, sewing signatures, and casing-in, and how to work with the basic materials of bookbinding (board, cloth, paper, and adhesives). Students will also have the opportunity to personalize their books by making their own book cloth and using customized inset labels. This is a fast-paced workshop, covering lots of ground—a perfect place to start your bookbinding journey!
