This workshop will introduce participants to some of the most important elements they'll need to endeavor into blues ukulele. Shortly after the workshop, the Presenter will perform a number of original blues ukulele songs (with a simple uke and vocal format) Workshop topics covered will include: chord types most commonly used for blues (and variations of them), how to play a blues shuffle rhythm, the importance of musical hooks and riffs and how they're derived, commonly used turnarounds, and a play-thru of one simple blues song (or 2, if time allows). The Blues Ukulele Solo Performance will consist of songs written and recorded by Jeff Saxon. The Library will furnish loaner ukes to workshop participants without instruments.
