Join award-winning teacher and choreographer Ishra Blanco for an introduction to the art of Belly Dance! This 6-week session is perfect for anyone looking to move, build self-love, and join the Invoketress community in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Ishra is passionate about seeing her students grow, and many have been dancing with her weekly for over a decade! She brings continual learning, generosity, and a mix of philosophical and spiritual insight to her teaching. Whether you’re a complete beginner or returning to dance, Ishra’s classes nurture both skill and confidence.
About Ishra Blanco:
- Multi-disciplinary dancer & choreographer with over 25 years of teaching experience
- Certified in Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy
- Touring Priestess Dancer
- Pioneer of Belly Dance Fusion in Canada, beginning her journey in 1994
- Classical Piano Certified (Royal Conservatory of Music) & Theatre Acting training (York University)
- Rich influences from Filipino, Polynesian, Arabic, South Asian, Flamenco, House, Dancehall, and Twerk
- Known for compelling performances and warm, inclusive teaching, emphasizing strong technique and movement foundations
- Certified in Sedona Soulfire’s Elemental Alchemy and Kelani Fitness (Polynesian dance fitness)
What You’ll Learn:
- Basic belly dance techniques and movements
- Ways to connect with your body and build self-confidence
- Fun choreography that blends traditional and fusion styles
- Opportunities to explore movement, music, and self-expression in a safe, welcoming space
Format:
- Classes are held online and in-person in Guelph
- Open to all levels
- Class recordings are available if you are unable to attend that class
- Each session: 1 hour (warm-up, technique drills, choreography, and cooldown)
