Astronomy Nights are back!
The museum will open to the public for free from 5:00pm-9:00pm and will include, talks from leading scientists and activities from the Museum’s education department.
Local astronomers will be on hand with their high-powered telescopes to help visitors navigate the night sky and answer questions about astronomy and stargazing. Guests are welcome to bring their own binoculars or look through the telescopes of the experts.
Schedule:
5:00pm-7:00pm: Intrepid Museum Demonstrations & Activities
6:30pm: Presentation in the Space Shuttle Pavilion by Astronautica: Voices of Women in Space.
Newly commissioned by Voices of Ascension, Astronautica is a work of music, voice and video by women composers, inspired by and based on the words of women astronauts. Hear from the composers of a select group of songs from the show, as they talk about the inspiration behind the song. (limited capacity in the Space Shuttle Pavilion)
7:00pm-9:00pm: Flight Deck telescope viewing with the Amateur Astronomers Association
