A weeklong musical workshop with Act II Theatre Company, finishing with a performance in the auditorium on the BIG STAGE!Be careful what you wish for... Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's fairytale feast features all your favourite characters: Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack (and his beanstalk) and the Witch in this deliciously rich retelling of the Brothers' Grimm's classic tales. The musical centres on a baker and his wife who wish to have a child, Cinderella who wishes to attend the ball, and Jack who wishes his cow would give milk. When the baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a witch's curse, they set off on a journey to break the curse. This results in a tangled web of characters and stories, told with humour and a highly sophisticated Sondheim score. The perfect challenge for teenage performers!
Over the course of a week, participants will rehearse a production of the show, to be performed at the end of the week in the auditorium.
