On February 6, 1896, under a storm-blackened sky, twenty railroad workers stood atop a decaying wooden railroad bridge spanning the Pequabuck River in Bristol. A powerful nor’easter had battered New England all day. Without warning, the bridge gave way. This is the story of the tragic day when six men lost their lives.
