About this Event
Interwoven: The Love Prescription: Connection in Motion - Small Things Often
At The Station Foundation, we believe that connection is both a practice and a lifeline. This series was created to help couples rediscover rhythm, trust, and joy not through perfection, but through presence.
Dance is a living metaphor for turning toward and staying curious. When you move with another person, every step is an act of listening: a shared rhythm, a subtle lead, a moment of pause. You don’t need perfect choreography, just awareness and trust. The same is true of relationships. Turning toward your partner is the emotional equivalent of finding rhythm; asking big questions keeps the movement alive. When one person steps out of sync, curiosity is what helps them return to the music together.
Connection, like dance, isn’t about perfect steps; it’s about presence. “Small things often.” - John & Julie Gottman
The Love Prescription: Connection in Motion brings the research of Drs. John and Julie Gottman into a lived experience. Their seven principles for deeper connection form the foundation of this three-part series, adapted for the unique rhythms of military and service life.
Each event of the Connection in Motion blends reflection, conversation, and movement to help couples:
- Reconnect through small daily gestures of care
- Rebuild admiration and gratitude
- Communicate needs with clarity and kindness
- Create rituals that sustain intimacy and belonging
Through this series, we move beyond words, learning how connection feels in motion: in breath, in trust, in laughter, in shared stillness. You are invited to bring honesty, curiosity, and courage to this process. Each event builds on simple truths that remind us: love is something we practice, and connection is a choice we make every day.
As part of our Interwoven gatherings, we will send a brief reflection email a week before each couple's activity to help you pause, connect, and arrive with intention. These reflections are designed to open a gentle conversation between partners and deepen the shared experience we create together. Your responses are an important part of our preparation, allowing us to thoughtfully plan for materials, space, and facilitation that honor every participant.
We will expect your response forms returned to us by email 72 hours before the event to confirm your participation. This small commitment ensures that each couple’s presence is intentional and that we hold the space with care for those ready to engage fully in the experience.
This is a first-come, first-served event with a maximum capacity of 8 couples.
