About this Event
Interwoven: Preserved in Bloom - The Art of Holding What Matters
Special Operations Forces spouses are invited to join The Station Foundation for an Interwoven gathering to honor the moments we choose to keep. Flowers often mark meaningful experiences, a hand-picked bloom from a child, a bouquet from a significant life event or ceremony, flowers received from someone dear, or flowers chosen simply to bring yourself a moment of joy. Too often, these moments fade, even though the memories remain.
Preserved in Bloom offers a gentle, hands-on opportunity to transform flowers into a lasting keepsake. Guided by a fellow spouse, participants will learn simple preservation techniques while moving at their own pace. This is not a crafting class focused on perfection. It is a reflective space where creativity becomes a way to honor memory, presence, and care, whether the flowers represent connection, resilience, remembrance, or self-kindness.
If you receive or select meaningful flowers closer to the workshop date, we will provide easy, step-by-step guidance ahead of time on how to preserve their freshness until we gather. Participants are welcome to bring their own bouquet they would like to preserve; however, flowers will be on hand to learn and practice the preservation technique.
Providing your own flowers is not a prerequisite.
This Interwoven experience reflects a core program principle: meaning is created when we slow down and choose what we hold onto. Preserving flowers allows a fleeting moment to take physical form, offering continuity through seasons of change. Following the workshop, participants are welcome to remain briefly for quiet reflection and conversation before returning to their day feeling grounded and supported.
