About this Event
Daniela Fernandez is a Georgetown alumna, ocean entrepreneur, and investor. She founded the Sustainable Ocean Alliance (SOA) as a student, growing it into a global movement active in over 180 countries. She is now the Founder & CEO of VELAMAR, an ocean-focused investment platform advancing scalable solutions for ocean resilience and economic transition.
This fireside chat will center on the theme “Oceans as a Business Imperative.” Daniela will reflect on her journey from Georgetown to building SOA, the leadership challenges of scaling a global organization, and her transition into launching VELAMAR. The conversation will explore how oceans are emerging as a material business and investment risk, and what that means for entrepreneurs, capital allocators, and the future of sustainable growth.
