Interpreting Worship MusicVirtual Workshop

The poetry and heart of an author is written right into the music we use to worship our Creator. Yet, when we try to interpret that same music, we often fall flat. Is it our affect? Is it our lack of understanding? Is it our approach? Music is often the last thing we focus on in our prep, but perhaps it is the most important part, in order to help our deaf audiences be able to prepare their hearts to worship our Lord.
In this workshop we will help equip interpreters to express music in a clear way that supports deaf people worshiping God. We will learn strategies to approach music, both when we have time for prep, and when we don’t have time for prep. We will provide guidelines to help ensure that the music we interpret is not lost on the audience, but has them engaged in worship. We will engage you in topics such as, researching music, beats, rhymes, and assessing our own performance before we even meet our clients. Join us!
