About this Event
The inaugural meeting established a clear consensus: a standardized interoperability framework is an economic and operational necessity for the robotics industry to scale effectively.
The current lack of a uniform architecture for robot communication inhibits performance, erodes customer confidence (avoiding vendor lock-in), and limits the potential of multi-robot systems.
Participants will be organized into specialized technical working groups to tackle specific domain challenges identified during the initial summit:
- Human-Robot Interaction Models: Defining intuitive, multimodal interfaces for non-expert users and establishing human roles as supervisors and troubleshooters.
- Robot Intent Sharing Mechanisms: Developing the technical protocols for heterogeneous robots to communicate goals, plans, and status to enable true collaboration, moving beyond simple coexistence.
- Task and Environment Semantics: Creating a common, machine-readable language for describing tasks and operational environments.
- Shared World Model Architecture: Exploring both centralized and decentralized architectural patterns for how a fleet of robots can maintain a common operational picture.
This initiative aims to create a framework for performant interaction, not a new safety standard, while navigating commercial realities and existing standards like VDA 50/50 and ISO 22440/21423.
