Parents, please join us here at Markham Woods on 4/15, at 5:30, in our cafeteria for a program on Internet Safety. Our PTSA won a national grant for the Be Internet Awesome program that teaches students to be safe and confident explorers of the online world. Students are welcomed and encouraged to attend with you. An agent from the Homeland Security Investigations Orlando office will be present to discuss internet safety, who can see what you post/where you are, what happens to media once you post it, online predators and grooming habits, and what to do if you find yourself in uncomfortable situations online. We'll finish the evening with a brief presentation from Dr. McDonald and our discipline team on how media can get you in trouble at school and how to avoid it.
