It’s International Women’s Day on Monday 8 March and in Newcastle that means it’s time for women’s poetry. The IWD Poetry Salon is on again and women and non-binary poets and readers are invited to nominate to read at the event.
We’ll be holding it at the Oak from 2-5pm.
As in previous years, readers are encouraged to bring along favourite poems by women and non-binary poets to read. In past years we’ve heard poetry from the 17th century to the present day, from women from diverse backgrounds and experiences, young and old.
You are welcome to read your own poetry, too, of course!
Come and hear your old favourites and new poems you’ve never heard before. It’s bound to be a beautiful evening.
We usually get a lot of interest in reading, so the time slots will likely be short.
Please contact Alex ([email protected]) by 19 February to express your interest in reading! PS the incredible George Woods (OG Organiser) is coming too! <3 <3
