About our speakers:
Associate Professor Katherine Moseby
is a Conservation Biologist with over 30 years experience in ecological research. She lives and works in the Australian desert and is committed to understanding and changing the way we manage and conserve our environment and natural resources. She has published over 160 peer reviewed research articles on arid zone ecology, conservation of threatened species and controlling threats such as vertebrate pests.
Katherine is passionate about creating research conservation partnerships with groups who are committed to understanding ecosystems and changing land use practices to reverse the decline of threatened species. She creates field-based research opportunities for students from a range of universities and provides one on one mentoring. Her students work on large scale field experiments aimed at understanding how we can manage our environment more effectively for conservation and productivity outcomes.
Katherine is a researcher at UNSW and is a member of several national recovery teams, the chief scientist at Arid Recovery, a director of Ecological Horizons consultancy, chair of the Middleback Alliance.
Katherine holds a PhD in reintroduction biology from the University of Adelaide and has worked in a number of ecological roles for universities, NGOs, private consulting companies and government organisations. She has been with UNSW since 2016 and is a deputy director of the Centre for Ecosystem Science.
Katherine is based remotely on the Eyre Peninsula, South Australia where she lives on a private nature reserve with her family.
Courtney Wohling
Health. Healing and Wellness have been at the centre of Courtney’s life since she was 18 years old. Leaving an original calling to work with victims (specifically children) of crime, as a child forensic psychiatrist, that she had felt since she was 10 years old, she chose a path a little less travelled (at the time) to become a healer.
An evolving journey through bodywork, naturopathy, herbalism & plant medicine, healing, mentoring, trauma/c-ptsd and grief work, somatic work and other things that have woven throughout the years.
The corporate world called a few times, but it was always short lived, being called back to healing in some form.
Now, Courtney is focused on a gentler, nourishing, sustainable approach to healing and holistic healthcare. One that brings all aspects of our humanness into the equation ~ body, mind, heart, energy & soul.
Courtney is in the process of moving back to her hometown of Kimba, Eyre Peninsula. To bring a vision ‘bode sattica’ to life; with a desire to bring the past 25 years of practice and experience into one healing centre, with heart at the core.
Eyre Business is excited to welcome Courtney Wohling back to her hometown and bring her healing skills to Eyre Peninsula.

Breakfast - Friday 6th March
We will be providing some delicious food and livestreaming the Adelaide IWD breakfast, featuring Australian of the Year, astronaut Katherine Bennall-Pegg from 6.45am for a 7am start on Friday 6th March at the Eyre Business Centre, 38 High Street Kimba.
The 2026 Australian of the Year, Katherine Bennell-Pegg, is the first astronaut to officially represent Australia, and the first Australian woman to receive professional astronaut wings. Following her graduation from the European Space Agency astronaut training in 2024 as part of the ‘Hoppers’ class, she became qualified to represent Australia in space on missions to the International Space Station and the Moon. She is a Director at the Australian Space Agency, a reservist Group Captain in the Royal Australian Air Force, and a space engineer who has worked around the globe on human spaceflight, exploration, space robotics and earth science missions and technologies. Katherine lives in Adelaide with her husband and 2 young daughters.
The Adelaide IWD breakfast is the largest event celebrating IWD in Australia and is also the largest annual women’s event in the Adelaide calendar. It was established in Adelaide in 1993 and has tremendous support from the Adelaide community, raising $160,000 in 2025.
