International Women's Day (IWD) is an annual global day celebrating women's social, economic, cultural, and political achievements. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. As part of our advocacy awareness in our community, Women of Toledo (WOT) is organizing an IWD signature luncheon on Monday, March 10, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Renaissance Downtown Toledo.International Women's Day is powered by collective efforts, and Collaboration is key to advancing women's equality. Collective action and shared ownership to drive gender parity are what make International Women's Day impactful. Gloria Steinem, world-renowned feminist, journalist, and activist, once explained, "The story of women's struggle for equality belongs to no single feminist nor to any one organization but to the collective efforts of all who care about human rights." So make International Women's Day your day and do what you can to truly make a positive difference for women.
One of the biggest ways to help Accelerate Action for gender equality is to Support the Supporters. This year, IWD 2025, we will be in conversation with women scaling up and building supporters who support collaboration networks as part of their strategies, resources, and activities that positively impact women's advancement and support and elevate their implementation.
