You’re invited to International Red Tent Day
Saturday 8th November | 11am–2pm
The Quakers Centre, 217 Ferry Road, Ōtautahi
✨ A free community gathering for all who feel the call.
Whether you’ve been journeying with Red Tent Aotearoa for years, haven’t joined us in a while, or have been watching quietly from the sidelines—this is your moment to step in.
We're opening this event to all genders.
This year’s International Red Tent Day is themed around food, memory, and connection.
We invite you to bring a plate that holds a story — something that carries a memory, a tradition, or a feeling. It might be your grandmother’s recipe, a comfort food from childhood, or a dish that reminds you of a time when you felt deeply connected. Please don't stress about this, if you're not a cook bring something bought or foraged, it's all good.
During our time together, we’ll share our food and the stories behind them, weaving nourishment with storytelling, and remembering the ways women have always fed and nurtured each other — body and soul.
Our conversation will also explore finding your tribe and creating the world we want for our children’s children.
Please register via Humanitix (it’s free) so we can plan for your arrival.

About International Red Tent Day
The Red Tent Revolution is here — and growing!
Only a few decades ago, “Red Tent” meant nothing more than camping gear. Since the release of Anita Diamant’s The Red Tent in 1997, women all over the world have been reclaiming the ancient tradition of gathering in circle — to share stories, wisdom, and sisterhood.
Founded by DeAnna Lam in Mexico City, International Red Tent Day celebrates this global movement of women remembering what it means to sit in sacred space together. The film Things We Don’t Talk About: Women’s Stories from the Red Tent helped spread the vision worldwide — including to Jill Natalia, who birthed Red Tent Australia in 2013 and Red Tent Aotearoa in 2020.
