The second of this season’s International Piano Series recitals will be given by the vibrantly communicative Georgian pianist, Mariam Batsashvili, whose performances of Liszt’s ‘La Campanella’ and Mozart’s D minor Piano Concerto (with cadenzas by Beethoven and Hummel) were so well-received at this summer’s BBC Proms. Tonight’s recital also forms a bridge between the music of Mozart and Liszt through the work of the great early 19th century composers, Schubert, Mendelssohn and Chopin.
