This workshop is a speed-run of everything I learnt at The Heat improv festival in Vancouver, Canada this year. From Estonian mime to Zimbabwe low-fi, Philippines Telenovela to Canadian quickdraw, and our own iconic laconic Kiwi style of improv, I’ll share gems for you to take away and add to your craft. This workshop is a fundraiser for Second Breakfast to return to Canada in 2026! Help us support our mate Ryan and PopRox founding member Jonny Paul in their international improv adventures, all while getting some awesome new improv intel from one of the nation's finest.
ABOUT THE TEACHER
Ryan (he/him) is an improviser from Te Papaioea, Aotearoa. He’s spent the last decade teaching improv across Aotearoa, including 4 years at NZIF. He’s a two-time New Zealand National Theatresports Champion 2016 & 2017, and is one-third of the trio Second Breakfast who represented Aotearoa in The Heat, an international improv showcase in Vancouver Canada in 2025 (and 2026!)
At the end of the day, he just wants to make people laugh and feel good.
STAND BY LIST
As this workshop is a fundraiser, we will not be operating a Stand-by List. However, tickets are pay what you can from just $30 which we reckon is an absolute bargain!
