About this Event
We are delighted to invite you to the next event in our International Law as a Profession series, taking place at 5pm on 23 February 2026 in the Gloag Lecture Theatre, Stair Building, The Square. This series offers students the opportunity to hear directly from leading practitioners in the field of international law and to gain valuable insight into life beyond the University.
This time, we are pleased to welcome two speakers, Christie Edwards and Lucinda Stallard. Christie Edwards is an internationally recognized and published legal expert with over twenty years of experience working on international humanitarian and human rights law, gender, international policy and advocacy, and international community development.
Lucinda Stallard is the Legal Counsellor at the Permanent Mission of the United Kingdom to the United Nations and Other International Organisations in Geneva, where she provides advice on public international law and negotiates multilateral agreements.
Christie and Lucinda will talk about their experiences navigating a career in international law—moving between government, international courts, and practice—and will share practical reflections on the opportunities and challenges for aspiring international lawyers today.
The talk will be followed by a Q&A session and an informal drinks reception, offering further opportunity for discussion and networking.
