Gujarat Tourism organizes the International Kite Festival every year. This year in 2025 they are organizing the 34th International Kite Festival in JANUARY from 11th January 2025 to 14th January 2025.
The International Kite Festival 2025 in Ahmedabad is scheduled from January 11 to January 14 2025. The inaugural ceremony will take place on January 11 at 9:00 AM at the Vallabh Sadan Riverfront in Ahmedabad with Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Tourism Minister Mulu Ayar Bera in attendance.
The festival's main venue is the Sabarmati Riverfront in Ahmedabad where daily events will commence at 8:00 AM and conclude by 6:00 PM.
This year the festival will also extend to other locations across Gujarat:
- January 12: Celebrations at the Statue of Unity (Ekta Nagar) Rajkot and Vadodara.
- January 13: Events in Surat Shivrajpur and Dhordo.
The festival will feature 143 kite flyers from 47 countries 52 participants from 11 Indian states and 417 kite enthusiasts from 11 cities within Gujarat.
Attendees can look forward to a variety of attractions including:
- Cultural Performances: Showcasing traditional dances and music.
- Kite Workshops: Opportunities to learn kite-making and flying techniques.
- Handicraft and Refreshment Stalls: Offering local crafts and culinary delights.
- Night Kite Flying: Illuminated kites lighting up the evening sky.
The festival is free to attend and is organized by the Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Ltd.
