This year to celebrate International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD), we have an amazing day planned for those of differing abilities, as well as for their families, carers and supporters.Commencing with a Walk/Stroll/Roll, we will gather in Memorial Lane Gympie for a colourful journey up Mary St towards the Post Office, where will cross over at the pedestrian crossing, before heading back down Mary St to the Gold City Centre Stage.
The theme will be colour and the opportunity to bring disability awareness to the streets of Gympie and thanks to the team at I Can Cafe, everyone will get to pass under the inclusion rainbow balloon archway in Mary Street.
We will have some local identities in wheelchairs as well, showcasing how difficult it can sometimes be to have a different ability on the streets of our beautiful town.
Arriving at Centre Stage at around 10.45am, we will then have around 2 hours of music featuring headliner Aspy Jones, entertainment, conversations as well as a sausage sizzle and cake/coffee.
Be sure and share this event with your friends and come down to say hello.
This initiative is proudly presented by the Gympie Disability Action Week volunteer committee.
