About this Event
In association with HSS and Cromwell Bottom Nature Reserve:
Taking place on the the first Sunday of May, International Dawn Chorus day is the worldwide celebration of nature’s finest symphony. This event is for all those interested in learning more about bird song, how to record bird song and identify birds using their mobile phones, and asking questions such as why do birds sing, how do birds learn to sing, and why are bird songs so different across species?
A dedicated few will meet in the very early morning of Sunday 5th May, say 4 a.m., to record bird song at Cromwell Bottom, then meet in the cabin at 10.30 am to listen to the recordings and ask questions.
If you want to attend the 4am session, please feel free, but be aware that facilities will not be open at this time.
Numbers will be limited so if you want to attend the Cabin session please book here...
Feel free to bring some bird song to the meeting that you have managed to record on your mobile phone and we will try to identify your birds!
If this event fills there will be a second cabin session organised for the afternoon.
