The May dates (7th and 8th) offer a 2-day dry lab.This 1st course is suitable of veterinary surgeons with little to no internal fixation experience, and is delivered by Nicci Meadows BVetMed CertAVP GSAS MRCVS RCVS Recognised Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Surgery.
Learning objectives - To understand the basics of internal fixation using pin and wiring, plating in both neutralisation and dynamic compression modes and plate, rod constructs. The course includes an introduction to locking technology.
Course content - Delegates can expect a combination of both lectures and practical, hands-on sessions, working on training bones.
The Nov date (4th) offers a 1-day wetlab.
This second date is scheduled to allow delegates time to practice their new skills before moving on to the more challenging locking repairs, and will cover how locking technology differs from non-locking and how to apply locking plates in both neutralisation and compression modes. 1-day event will be delivered by Gareth Arthurs PGCertMedEd MA VetMB CertVR CertSAS DSAS(Orth) FHEA FRCVS.
Lunch and refreshments throughout the day are included. places on both courses will be strictly limited to 16 delegates.
