About this Event
Ethan Cohn will lead a participatory workshop in which he presents The ORB, a spherical instrument that emits sound and light depending on its motion through space. He will give an overview of his creative and technical process in creating this work. Through a brief introduction to Arduino, physical computing, and Max/MSP, The ORB’s inner workings will be revealed to all.
Participants will be invited to create improvisatory ORB pieces together, exploring the musical and performative possibilities of motion-sensing technology. Live sampling, signal processing, movement, composition, and improvisation will be discussed.
