Join us for the second session of our Intellectual Property Workshop Series!
Whether you're a researcher, entrepreneur, student, or creator, understanding intellectual property is essential for protecting your innovations and ideas. This three-part workshop series, facilitated by Dr. Nicole Snyder, Professor of Chemistry at Davidson College and Cornelson Faculty Innovator in Residence at the Hurt Hub@Davidson and will demystify the world of IP and give you practical knowledge you can apply immediately.
Workshop #2: Copyrights
This workshop provides an overview of copyright law. Participants will gain a practical understanding of what copyright protects and how to use, share, and license works responsibly.
Key topics include:
- Copyright protection for text, images, software, music, video, and more
- Ownership and authorship in collaborative settings
- Fair use, licensing and sharing work (Creative Commons, permissions, and reuse)
- Copyright considerations for AI-generated content

Workshop #4: Walk-In Office Hours (April 30) – Have an idea you want to protect? Drop in for personalized guidance on provisional patents and protecting your innovations. This informal session allows you to get one-on-one feedback and answers to your specific IP questions.
