Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:

1. Analyze and Apply Site-Specific Safeguards: Identify and mitigate common field hazards by applying specific safety protocols for ladder use, fall protection, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as mandated by the updated Houston Construction Code and OSHA-aligned standards.
2. Evaluate Structural Integrity for High-Wind Environments: Assess the adequacy of exterior load paths and structural components (such as guard posts and wind-resistant framing). Learn how to utilize the ASCE Hazard Tool and understandcurrent structural inspection benchmarks to ensure compliance with regional wind-load requirements.
3. Implement Enhanced Electrical Safety Standards: Differentiate between core electrical hazards (shock, arc flash, and fire) and apply the 2026 NEC requirements for GFCI/AFCI protection and Lockout/Tagout procedures to ensure safe installation and inspection of residential and commercial electrical systems.
4. Learn about Pedestrian Protection & Site Safeguards (IBC & IRC), Safety During Alterations & Demolitions
5. Hear about Fire Safety During Construction and post construction building site fire safety.
