Whether you're a writer, a performer, or just curious to see what happens when comedy gets made on the fly, come play. Instant Sketch Night is for everyone. And it's FREE!
Let’s make something ridiculous together.
We’ll kick things off by writing - you can work solo, come as a team or we can match you up with someone. Everyone will have one hour to crank out a brand-new sketch. No pre-written material allowed — just blank pages, wild ideas, and help from our team of trained producer-teachers. To spark creativity, we’ll provide sketch format tips, improv exercises, and suggestions from the Highwire Deck.
Once the sketches are done, writers will have the option of presenting their sketch - acted out or as a staged reading. Casts will be filled in from writers pool, or from folks who just show up to perform. Or they can decide to take it home for more polishing.
Expect a joyfully chaotic night of first-draft sketches. At the end of the night, writers will walk away with a completed first draft, ready to remix for the future.
About the Venue:
The Highwire Center is Highwire Improv's home base in the Highlandtown neighborhood of Baltimore! Part of Highlandtown Main Street and the Highlandtown Arts District, The Highwire Center is home to classes, free workshops, shows, community events, corporate training, and more! The Highwire Center is accessible, with ramp access available, an ADA restroom, and flat transit throughout the space.
